This service was developed recognising the space, not currently provided for, where difficulties or conflict may be arising. This is important.  People and organisations usually recognise that something is not right, problems are emerging but there is nowhere to turn for practical help.  This is why this service has been developed.

 

You may like to seek discussion and agreement in the most amicable way possible as your goal may be to preserve relations and peace.  How do you achieve that? 

 

Many times actions are not taken, decisions not made because the fear of conflict or upset.  This can be a deterrent and barrier to achieving the goals you desire.

 

To aid you to overcome barriers and minimise any consequences you fear, we provide a solution using our existing skills in the form of Empowered To Talk.  A structured, neutral forum, that remains impartial and confidential.  Each person has equal opportunity to speak and be heard.

 

Priorities are unique.  We address this prior to meeting together.  Each person is asked to tell me what they hope to gain from participating.

 

Your priority may be to find agreement, make decisions, explore workplace co-operation, de-escalate or prevent a situation.  This is for families, and commercial organisations alike.

 

In either situation, there may be signposting to other organisations to obtain further information or advice.  The result of that may facilitate resolution by yourselves, or you can arrange a further meeting that brings you closer to the resolution you desire.  You can decide how you wish the process to unfold.

What is Mediation

Mediation and our Empowered To Talk is a dynamic and empowering process aimed at resolving conflicts and disputes as well as recognising the period of time prior to conflict, where you can be struggling to find agreement and co-operation. At Isle of Wight Mediation, we specialize in facilitating constructive conversation and negotiation in a structured, relaxed environment, to reach mutually beneficial agreements. Our approach focuses on promoting resolution where there is not a win or lose situation but one where all concerned can agree on the outcome.  We take pride in our ability to foster positive outcomes for all parties involved.
